Many of you have been asking for a scotch-single malt-whiskey dinner, so we are featuring a flight of Balvenie Whiskeys from the Speyside area of northeastern Scotland. Whiskey has 5 major flavor profiles and Balvenie falls into the spicy category, less intense than peaty for example and very smooth. Balvenie is unique as it has one of the oldest Scottish whiskeys. It also has one of the most experienced Malt Masters in Scotland on its staff. At Balvenie, they do everything from growing their own ingredients, to having their own coopers to the expertise of David Stewart, Balvenie’s Malt Master.
